  2. Start FreeFixer and press the Start Scan button. The scan will finish in approximately five minutes.

  3. When the scan is finished, locate ApplicationUpdater.exe in the scan result and tick the checkbox next to the ApplicationUpdater.exe file. Do not check any other file for removal unless you are 100% sure you want to delete it. Tip: Press CTRL-F to open up FreeFixer's search dialog to quickly locate ApplicationUpdater.exe in the scan result.

somehow i downloaded this file. i saw it in the task manager window and didnt give much importance, but later i understood that i had to. it began by uninstalling my internet explorer. then i couldn launch my doctor spyware. application updater was located in c/program files. i didnt succeed in deleting it manually. then i used file assasin tool which comes with malware antimalware bytes. it deleted it but asked for rebooting. but after rebooting the file was gone.

This file (Program) is apparently included with the free download of PDFCreator, in an attempt to generate some income. The program creates an add-on to IE and Firefox browsers and can potentially report your surfing habits or even redirect certain searches and/or AV updates.
It creates a program group in the Program Files directory (Application Updater) and also makes registry changes. To remove it, go to add/remove programs and uninstall PFDForge Toolbar.

As it seems that it is rather difficult to pinpoint the use of ApplicationUpdater.exe I should like to share the information that I have obtained in another foru - that this file as well as another one (SearchSettings.exe)from Spigot.Inc is supposed to be used by a downloader toolbar but I should like to have that confirmed, Thank You
