You can ask Microsoft if it is safe to remove an app which you used to crack Microsoft Office.
autoKMS.exe is installed when you crack Office.
Its part of the crack. Antivirus AVG softwares often flag this as a threat. This is a false positive.
Add the file to the whitelist and dont worry. Just AV doing a little bit of its dirty job.

Auto KMS is use to activate different versions of Windows or Office.

Commonly activated Windows versions are 8.0/8.1.
Commonly activated Office versions are Office 2013 & above.

Removing this file will de-activate your Windows/Office activation & leave you with no choice but to re-activate.

For those who bought their OS/Office & frequently test, this is a must have utility. If you need to beg Microsoft to use the OS/Office you bought, you will find this tool to be invaluable.

There may be variants/versions that really are hacktools, but a lot of AntiVirus scanners are informed by Microsoft of utilities that prevent their perpetual nanny state control, & are told they need to incorporate these definitions to alert a user that this file is very dangerous, could harm your computer, could be hacking your information, needs to be deleted, etc.

What makes me laugh is, ALL OS, genuine or not, are easily hackable. Internet Explorer is the main vulnerability with it's active-x drive-by malware installation feature (google & read up on this, it's true!).

To become secure, using Firefox or Chrome (With adblock to block ads of course) is mandatory. Though, some people are jumping onto the advertisement bandwagon & debating whether or not you have the right to eliminate ads on your pc on your internet connection that you already paid for or if you should be forced to view ads no matter what.

Anyway, hope this review helps!
