Enter Services under Administrative Tools and select Disable instead of Automatic for all Adobe Products, decide for yourself when you want to try a upgrade when & if you encounter some reading problem, consult the properties of PDF File to see version info and charsets used, like this:

=============
a)Goto run
b)Type services.msc
c)Disable Adobe Flash Player Update Service
=============

other than that enter the folder C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and open to edit file mms.cfg and enter a ZERO for the top entry and change the ZERO on the bottom entry to a 1 then save the file back to the folder with your changes, like this:

SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0
AutoUpdateDisable=1

Both these measures are needed
