hpqdirec.exe is an executable file for HP Solution Center, a software that comes with HP all in one printer drivers. I worked prior to my having a major computer issue. all programs were recovered but this one just refuses to work. If it was working it would let you scan or copy document or picture by selecting button. it gives options of where to save file, how many pixels (I think that is what it is called) a lot of simple but neat things to me. very user friendly and as older user i need simple. I have completely uninstalled, scanned register to clean it, reinstalled and nothing happens, hour glass shows for maybe 2 seconds and then nothing. I am getting frustrated, i don't know what else to try.

It is the HP Solution Center.
Think there used to be an application called Director before they developed Solution Center. They now have something called Printer Assistant.

I click the Solution Center icon and I get a box that asks if I want the app Hpqdirec.exe to make changes to this PC. I never saw this until now. Of course, the Solution Center window never opens, no matter what I click. I upgraded from Vista to 10.
