I did install hwinfo free software to monitor my laptop, so, even though my laptop has an intel processor, since I haven`t had any suspicious problems attributable to hwinfo, I reckon this hwinfo64a.sys is part of the monitoring software, so I'm leaving it.

I am very far from being a techie, but I do have an analytical mind. Regarding the current furore over processors, I am surprised to note that in my C drive, the specified driver was loaded into my SysWOW64 folder (size 27KB) as recently as 30/12/2017, and that the SysWOW64 folder, itself, was last modified on 04/01/2018.

I have a Dell Studio 1745 laptop (just over eight years old) using W7 64 bit Home Premium and it has an Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20GHz Penryn 45nm Technology processor.

Big question is: Why should I have been very recently 'gifted', without my knowledge or permission, an AMD Kernel driver ?? Wouldn't have known anything about it without FreeFixer - a superb creation. Thanks Ray
