I receive this alert from AVG for any spreadsheet file.
================================
AVG
We've just protected your file wksss.exe is trying to change or delete [spreadsheet file] in your protected Desktop Folder

BLOCK APP - ALLOW APP
================================

Windows then directs me to change the file name and save, which is a nuisance. I'm guessing (like really guessing a lot) that it was always in Microsoft Works, but upgraded virus detection in AVG wants to reject it. I will not ALLOW APP, until I hear from you. If I don't hear from you, I will probably allow it, anyway, although with some trepidation.

In regards to my last post, I have found one fix. I don't know why it works, but it seems that my virus detection only interferes with wksss.exe when the spreadsheet I'm opening or closing is stored on the desktop. Move it to another location and create a shortcut which you can put on the desktop. I moved my spreadsheet to C:/program files, and it works like it's supposed to.

My malware software detected the virus and I deleted it
NOW every time I open my spreadsheet it says it cannot be saved unless I change the name or location
I can save it with another name but I find it annoying
Yes I have gone to "properties" and "Read Only" is not checked
