Vuze Inc. - 4% Detection Rate *

Did you just find a download or a file on your computer that is digitally signed by Vuze Inc.? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as Unwanted-Program ( 004a9cff1 ) and not-a-virus:WebToolbar.Win32.Conduit.cnt. The detection rate for the Vuze Inc. files collected here is 4%. Please read on for more details.

You'll probably notice Vuze Inc. when double-clicking to run the file. The publisher name shows up as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can view additional details from the Vuze Inc. certificate with the following procedure:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the Vuze Inc. file
  2. Right-click the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click the View Certificate button

As you can see in the screenshot above, Windows reports that "This digital signature is OK". This means that the file has been published by Vuze Inc. and that no one has tampered with the file.

You can also examine the address for Vuze Inc., such as the street name, city and country.
