Zhang Ling - 12% Detection Rate *

Did you just stumble upon a download or a file on your computer that is digitally signed by Zhang Ling? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as Zhangling.BCD and AdWare.Agent. The detection rate for the Zhang Ling files collected here is 12%. Please read on for more details.

You will typically see Zhang Ling when double-clicking to run the file. The publisher name is displayed as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screencap shows:

You can also view the Zhang Ling certificate with the following steps:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the Zhang Ling file
  2. Right-click on the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click the View Certificate button

As you can see in the screenshot above, Windows reports that "This digital signature is OK". This means that the file has been published by Zhang Ling and that the file has not been tampered with.
