Hello readers! Hope you are having a good time and not too many malware issues. Currently\u00a0I’m on a short vacation, but I brought the laptop\u00a0since I found a few new malware programs that I wanted to post about.<\/p>\n

Found something called UniversalUpdater<\/strong> while testing out another download<\/a>. If you’ve got UniversalUpdater<\/strong>\u00a0on your machine, you’ll notice UpdateService.exe<\/a> and CrashMon.exe<\/a> running in the Windows Task Manager.<\/p>\n

So, what’s are those two files? Well, a few of the anti-virus scanners over at VirusTotal flags the files as you can see in the screenshot. Artemis<\/strong> and Alnaddy<\/strong> are two of the detection names.<\/p>\n

I could not see any entry for UniversalUpdater<\/strong> in the Add \/ Remove programs dialog. However, removing UniversalUpdater<\/strong> is easy with FreeFixer<\/a>, just select the CrashMon.exe and UpdaterService.exe file for removal:<\/p>\n
