While doing a standard Google search I noticed a request to\u00a0<strong>clients1.google.com<\/strong>, specifically to the <strong>http:\/\/clients1.google.com\/ocsp<\/strong>\u00a0URL:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/clients1.google.comocsp.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4429 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/clients1.google.comocsp.png\" alt=\"clients1.google.com\/ocsp\" width=\"602\" height=\"320\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/clients1.google.comocsp.png 602w, https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/clients1.google.comocsp-300x159.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\" \/><\/a>The request is of the &#8220;<strong>application\/ocsp-request<\/strong>&#8221; type. <strong>OCSP<\/strong> is an acronym for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Online_Certificate_Status_Protocol\"><b>Online Certificate Status Protocol<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and it is a protocol\u00a0used for getting the revocation status of a digital certificate.<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s probably what the connection is about: Checking the revocation status for some \u00a0certificate, probably Google&#8217;s HTTPS certificate since I was doing a Google https:\/\/\u00a0search. I have not bothered to decode the OCSP request to see in detail what information Firefox requests.
