Stumbled upon an adware called\u00a0GetMyFilesNow<\/strong> the other day. Here’s how its installer looks like:<\/p>\n

Once installed it will appear as an add-on in Mozilla Firefox:<\/p>\n

So, what kind of advertising does \u0003GetMyFilesNow<\/strong>\u00a0show? After installation the\u00a0well-known Nav-Links<\/a> type of ads started to appear, but when I tested it\u00a0GetMyFilesNow<\/strong>\u00a0also replaced Google Adsense ads on the web sites that I\u00a0visited.<\/p>\n

GetMyFilesNow may also insert ads into Google search results. They ads are labeled “Powered by GetMyFilesNow<\/strong>“:<\/p>\n

Many of the anti-virus programs are obviously aware of GetMyFilesNow<\/strong>. When I scanned getmyfilesnow.exe, 14 of the 53 anti-virus programs flagged the file. Most of them report it as KillFiles<\/strong>, Linkular<\/strong> and Linkun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

You can remove GetMyFilesNow<\/strong> by simply removing the Firefox Extension, either directly in Firefox or by checking the extension for removal in FreeFixer<\/a>:<\/p>\n
