So don&#8217;t blame the people that owns the site you were at when you first spotted eshopcomp.com in the status bar. They are presumably not responsible, but from the adware that&#8217;s running on your system. I&#8217;ll do my best to help you <strong>remove the pstatic.eshopcomp.com message<\/strong> in this blog post.<\/p>\n<p>I found eshopcomp.com on one of the lab machines where I have some adware running. I&#8217;ve talked about this in some of the previous blog posts. The adware was installed on purpose, and from time to time I check if something new has appeared, such as pop-up windows, new tabs in the web browsers, injected ads on website that usually don&#8217;t show advertisements, or if some new files have been saved to the hard-drive.<\/p>\n<p>eshopcomp.com was created on 2015-02-25. pstatic.eshopcomp.com resolves to\u00a069.16.175.10. I&#8217;ve also seen the following subdomains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>istatic.eshopcomp.com<\/strong> (69.16.175.42)<\/li>\n<li><strong>jsgnr.eshopcomp.com<\/strong> (69.16.175.10)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, how do you <strong>remove eshopcomp.com<\/strong> from your browser? On the machine where eshopcomp.com showed up in the status bar I had <a title=\"TinyWallet - Removal Instructions\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/remove-tinywallet\/\">TinyWallet<\/a>, <a title=\"Ads By BlockAndSurf - Removal Instructions\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/ads-by-blockandsurf-removal\/\">BlockAndSurf<\/a> and <a title=\"BrowserWarden Ads - Removal Instructions\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/remove-browser-warden\/\">BrowserWarden<\/a> installed. I removed them with <a title=\"About the FreeFixer removal tool\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/about-freefixer\/\">FreeFixer<\/a> and that stopped the browser from loading data from eshopcomp.com.<\/p>\n<p>TinyWallet was probably the adware that caused the statusbar messages in my case, based on that\u00a0TinyWallet showed up in my network log, in a connection to <strong>istatic.eshopcomp.com<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/istatic.eshopcomp.com-pop-up.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4929 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/istatic.eshopcomp.com-pop-up.png\" alt=\"istatic.eshopcomp.com connection mentioning TinyWallet\" width=\"721\" height=\"143\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/istatic.eshopcomp.com-pop-up.png 721w, https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/istatic.eshopcomp.com-pop-up-300x59.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The issue with this type of status bar notification is that it can be caused by many variants of adware, not just the adware running on my machine. This makes it impossible to say exactly what you need to remove to stop the status bar messages.<\/p>\n<p>So, what can be done? To remove pstatic.eshopcomp.com you need to examine your machine for adware or other types of unwanted software and uninstall it. Here&#8217;s my suggested removal procedure:<\/p>\n<p>The first thing I would do to <strong>remove eshopcomp.com<\/strong> is to examine the software installed on the machine, by opening the &#8220;Uninstall programs&#8221; dialog. You can reach this dialog from the Windows Control Panel. If you are using one of the more recent versions of Windows OS you can just type in &#8220;uninstall&#8221; in the Control Panel&#8217;s search field to find that dialog:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Uninstall-a-program-search.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2849\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Uninstall-a-program-search.png\" alt=\"Uninstall a program search\" width=\"471\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Uninstall-a-program-search.png 471w, https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Uninstall-a-program-search-300x102.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 471px) 100vw, 471px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Click on the &#8220;<strong>Uninstall a program<\/strong>&#8221; link and the Uninstall programs dialog will open up:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Uninstall-a-program-dialog.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2853\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Uninstall-a-program-dialog.png\" alt=\"Uninstall a program dialog\" width=\"356\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Uninstall-a-program-dialog.png 356w, https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Uninstall-a-program-dialog-300x245.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 356px) 100vw, 356px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Do you see something shady listed there or something that you don&#8217;t remember installing? Tip: Sort on the &#8220;<strong>Installed On<\/strong>&#8221; column to see if something was installed about the same time as you started seeing the eshopcomp.com status bar messages.<\/p>\n<p>The next thing to check would be your web browser&#8217;s add-ons. Adware often appear under the add-ons menu in Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari. Is there anything that looks suspicious? Something that you don&#8217;t remember installing?<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Firefox-add-ons-manager.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2927 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Firefox-add-ons-manager-300x190.png\" alt=\"Firefox add-ons manager\" width=\"300\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Firefox-add-ons-manager-300x190.png 300w, https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Firefox-add-ons-manager.png 460w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think most users will be able to find and uninstall the adware with the steps outlined above, but in case that did not work you can try the <a title=\"About FreeFixer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/about-freefixer\/\">FreeFixer removal tool<\/a> to identify and remove the adware. FreeFixer is a freeware tool that I started develop many years ago. Freefixer is a tool built to manually find and uninstall unwanted software. When you&#8217;ve identified the unwanted files you can simply tick a checkbox and click on the Fix button to remove the unwanted file.<\/p>\n<p>FreeFixer&#8217;s removal feature is not crippled like many other removal tools out there. It will not require you to pay a fee just when you are about to remove the unwanted files.<\/p>\n<p>And if you&#8217;re having difficulties deciding if a file is legitimate or malware in the FreeFixer scan result, click on the <strong>More Info<\/strong> link for the file. That will open up your browser with a page which contains additional details about the file.
