Or did localkeymappeer.com show up while you search for something on one of the major search engines, such as the Google.com search engine?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s js.localkeymappeer.com in the network log on my machine:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/js.localkeymappeer.com-connection.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5885\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/js.localkeymappeer.com-connection.png\" alt=\"js.localkeymappeer.com connection\" width=\"526\" height=\"92\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/js.localkeymappeer.com-connection.png 526w, https:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/js.localkeymappeer.com-connection-300x52.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 526px) 100vw, 526px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the status bar messages you may see in your browser&#8217;s status bar:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Waiting for localkeymappeer.com&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Transferring data from localkeymappeer.com&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Looking up localkeymappeer.com&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Read localkeymappeer.com<\/li>\n<li>Connected to localkeymappeer.com&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If this sounds like what you are seeing on your computer, you most likely have some potentially unwanted program installed on your computer that makes the localkeymappeer.com domain appear in your browser. So there&#8217;s no use contacting the owner of the site you were browsing. The localkeymappeer.com status bar messages are not coming from them. I&#8217;ll do my best to help you <strong>remove the localkeymappeer.com message<\/strong> in this blog post.<\/p>\n<p>Those that have been following this blog already know this, but for new visitors: Not long ago I dedicated a few of my lab machines and deliberately installed a few potentially unwanted programs on them. I have been monitoring the behaviour on these systems to see what kinds of advertisements that are displayed. I&#8217;m also looking on other interesting things such as if the potentially unwanted program auto-updates, or if it downloads and installs additional potentially unwanted programs on the computers. I first spotted the localkeymappeer.com in Mozilla Firefox&#8217;s status bar on one of these lab machines.<\/p>\n<p>localkeymappeer.com was created on 2015-03-16. localkeymappeer.com resolves to the 184.168.221.53 address. I&#8217;ve also seen js.localkeymappeer.com, logs.localkeymappeer.com\u00a0and app.localkeymappeer.com\u00a0in use.<\/p>\n<p>So, how do you <strong>remove localkeymappeer.com<\/strong> from your web browser? On the machine where localkeymappeer.com showed up in the status bar I had TornTV and CinemaPlus V6 installed. I removed them with <a title=\"More info on FreeFixer and download link here\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/about-freefixer\/\">FreeFixer<\/a> and that stopped the browser from loading data from localkeymappeer.com.<\/p>\n<p>The bad news with status bar messages like this one is that it can be caused by many variants of potentially unwanted programs, not just the potentially unwanted program that&#8217;s installed on my system. This makes it impossible to say exactly what you need to remove to stop the status bar messages.<\/p>\n<p>So, what should done to solve the problem? To remove localkeymappeer.com you need to check your computer for potentially unwanted programs and uninstall them. Here&#8217;s my suggested removal procedure:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Check what programs you have installed in the Add\/Remove programs dialog in the Windows Control Panel. Do you see something that you don&#8217;t remember installing or that was recently installed?<\/li>\n<li>You can also examine the browser add-ons. Same thing here, do you see something that you don&#8217;t remember installing?<\/li>\n<li>If that does not help, I&#8217;d recommend a scan with <a title=\"Read more on FreeFixer here\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/about-freefixer\/\">FreeFixer<\/a> to manually track down the potentially unwanted program.
