On the machine where kak.protestantsgranaries.com showed up in the statusbar I had <a title=\"Remove &quot;Ads by SalePlus&quot; and &quot;Ad by SalePlus&quot;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/remove-ads-by-saleplus-and-ad-by-saleplus\/\">SalePlus<\/a>, <a title=\"YouTubeAdBlocke - Removal Instructions\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/remove-youtubeadblocke\/\">YouTubeAdBlocke<\/a> and IStart 5.3.7 installed. I removed them with <a title=\"About FreeFixer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freefixer.com\/b\/about-freefixer\/\">FreeFixer<\/a> and that stopped the web browser from loading data from kak.protestantsgranaries.com.<\/p>\n<p>The problem with status bar messages such as this one is that it can be caused by many variants of potentially unwanted programs. This makes it impossible to say exactly what you need to remove to stop the statusbar messages.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here&#8217;s my suggestion for the kak.protestantsgranaries.com removal:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Check what programs you have installed in the Add\/Remove programs dialog in the Windows Control Panel.
