Another adware find this morning. This one is called\u00a0Greener Web<\/strong>. You might have noticed Greener Web<\/strong> when starting up Firefox and being asked to install Greener Web<\/strong>, or in Mozilla’s and Internet Explorer’s add-on dialog:<\/p>\n

Many of the\u00a0\u00a0anti-virus programs over at VirusTotal \u00a0detects the Greener Web adware<\/strong> as you can see in the scan\u00a0result for GreenerWebbho.dll:<\/p>\n

I found GreenerWeb<\/strong>\u00a0bundled in an unofficial Adobe Flash Player download. The installer file,\u00a0AdobeFlashPlayer.exe<\/a> was digitally signed by SuperCool Applications<\/a>. Here’s how GreenerWeb<\/strong>\u00a0was disclosed in the installer:<\/p>\n

You can remove Greener Web with FreeFixer<\/a>. Just select the Greener Web files for removal and click the Fix button and Greener Web will not bother you any more:<\/p>\n
