I've been getting a lot of questions about how to delete a program called BitGuard lately, so I thought it would be a good idea to follow with a blog post about it.
But first, what is BitGuard? BitGuard is a program that comes bundled with other software such as a file manager called 77Zip. When BitGuard is running it may prevent you from modifying some web browser settings, such as the Internet Explorer start page.
If BitGuard is running on your system you will see two BitGuard.exe processes in the Windows Task Manager. If you examine your system more in detail, you will notice that BitGuard also installs a file called BitGuard.dll as an AppInit_Dll.
It can be quite difficult to delete BitGuard manually, since if you kill one of the BitGuard.exe processes from the Task Manager, it will be immediately restarted.
