This file is associated with an empty Registry key that is sometimes wrongly removed by some Registry Cleaners. However, the Reg. key is necessary and if removed the file goes into an endless loop looking for it. This uses a lot of CPU resources (13% - on my Dell XPS 15 L502X(Intel Core i7), a lot of battery power, and the fan runs constantly. The empty reg key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\SRS Labs\

The comment of Mike 'saved my life'. I had the same problem (CPU resources, power battery consumption and fan running constantly). It's back to normal.

Thanks Mike!

Hi Mike, thanks a lot for the tip, I was wondering what's happening. I'm writing an email right now to CCleaner and Wise registry cleaner to tell them not to touch this key. Cheers
