Did you just run into a download or a file on your computer that has been digitally signed by Advanced Applications? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as Adware/PullUpdate and Adware ( 004b87561 ). The detection rate for the Advanced Applications files collected here is 18%. You'll typically see Advanced Applications when running the file. The publisher name is then displayed as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screengrab shows:

As you can see in the screencap above, the Windows OS reports that "This digital signature is OK". This means that the file has been published by Advanced Applications and that the file has not been tampered with.
