Cash Kitten - 33% Detection Rate *

Did you just find a download or a file on your computer that has a digital signature from Cash Kitten? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as Trojan.Yontoo.2775 and W32.HfsAdware.EB0D. The detection rate for the Cash Kitten files collected here is 33%. You will probably notice Cash Kitten when double-clicking to run the file. The publisher name is then displayed as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can view additional details from the Cash Kitten certificate with the following procedure:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the Cash Kitten file
  2. Right-click on the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click on the View Certificate button

As you can see in the screencap above, Windows reports that "This digital signature is OK". This means that the file has been published by Cash Kitten and that the file has not been tampered with.
