ClearThink - 25% Detection Rate *

Did you just run into a download or a file on your computer that is digitally signed by ClearThink? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as Generic.C34 and Browse Fox. The detection rate for the ClearThink files collected here is 25%. Please read on for more details.

You will typically see ClearThink when running the file. The publisher name is then displayed as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can view the additional details from the ClearThink digital signature with the following steps:

  1. Open up Windows Explorer and locate the ClearThink file
  2. Right-click on the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click the View Certificate button

As you can see in the screenshot above, Windows states that "This digital signature is OK". This implies that the file has been published by ClearThink and that no one has tampered with the file.

If you click the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above, you can view all the details of the certificate, such as when it was issued, who issued the certificate, how long it is valid, etc. You can also view the address for ClearThink, such as the street name, city and country.

VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2010 CA has issued the ClearThink certificates. You can also see the details of the issuer by clicking the View Certificate button shown in the screengrab above.
