Engaging Apps - 7% Detection Rate *

Did you just run into a download or a file on your computer that is digitally signed by Engaging Apps? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as AppRider and GamePlayLabs (fs). The detection rate for the Engaging Apps files collected here is 7%. Please read on for more details.

You will probably notice Engaging Apps when running the file. The publisher name is displayed as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can view the digital signature details for Engaging Apps with the following procedure:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the Engaging Apps file
  2. Right-click the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click on the View Certificate button

Here is a screenshot of a file that has been signed by Engaging Apps:

As you can see in the screengrab above, Windows states that "This digital signature is OK". This implies that the file has been published by Engaging Apps and that the file has not been tampered with.

If you click the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above, you can examine all the details of the certificate, such as when it was issued, who issued the certificate, how long it is valid, and so on. You can also see the address for Engaging Apps, such as the street name, city and country.

Thawte Code Signing CA - G2 has issued the Engaging Apps certificates. You can also see the details of the issuer by clicking the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above.
