KeyShot Publisher Overview

Did you just run into a file that has a digital signature from KeyShot? If that's the case, please read on.

You will typically notice KeyShot when running the file. The publisher name shows up as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can view additional details from the KeyShot certificate with the following steps:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the KeyShot file
  2. Right-click on the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click the View Certificate button

Here's a screenshot of a file signed by KeyShot:

As you can see in the screengrab above, Windows reports that "This digital signature is OK". This implies that the file has been published by KeyShot and that the file has not been tampered with.

If you click the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above, you can examine all the details of the certificate, such as when it was issued, who issued the certificate, how long it is valid, and so on. You can also see the address for KeyShot, such as the street name, city and country.

Microsoft ID Verified CS EOC CA 04 has issued the KeyShot certificates. You can also view the details of the issuer by clicking the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above.
