Quick Surf - 14% Detection Rate *

Did you just stumble upon a download or a file on your computer that is digitally signed by Quick Surf? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as InfoAtoms (fs) and Adware.Plugin.1137. The detection rate for the Quick Surf files collected here is 14%. Please read on for more details.

You'll typically notice Quick Surf when double-clicking to run the file. The publisher name is then displayed as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can also view the Quick Surf certificate with the following procedure:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the Quick Surf file
  2. Right-click the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click the View Certificate button

As you can see in the screenshot above, Windows states that "This digital signature is OK". This implies that the file has been published by Quick Surf and that the file has not been tampered with.

If you click the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above, you can examine all the details of the certificate, such as when it was issued, who issued the certificate, how long it is valid, etc. You can also examine the address for Quick Surf, such as the street name, city and country.
