SqueakyChocolate - 8% Detection Rate *

Did you just find a download or a file on your computer that has a digital signature from SqueakyChocolate? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as Unwanted-Program ( 00454f261 ) and TROJ_GEN.F47V0220. The detection rate for the SqueakyChocolate files collected here is 8%. You will probably notice SqueakyChocolate when double-clicking to run the file. The publisher name is displayed as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can view the additional details from the SqueakyChocolate digital signature with the following procedure:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the SqueakyChocolate file
  2. Right-click on the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click on the View Certificate button

As you can see in the screencap above, the Windows OS reports that "This digital signature is OK". This implies that the file has been published by SqueakyChocolate and that no one has tampered with the file.

If you click the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above, you can see all the details of the certificate, such as when it was issued, who issued the certificate, how long it is valid, etc. You can also see the address for SqueakyChocolate, such as the street name, city and country.
