The A MEDIA - 54% Detection Rate *

Did you just run into a download or a file on your computer that has been digitally signed by The A MEDIA? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT and Adware.GenericKD.40142082. The detection rate for the The A MEDIA files collected here is 54%. You'll typically notice The A MEDIA when clicking to run the file. The publisher name shows up as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can also view the The A MEDIA certificate with the following procedure:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the The A MEDIA file
  2. Right-click the file and select Properties
  3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
  4. Click on the View Certificate button

As you can see in the screenshot above, the Windows OS reports that "This digital signature is OK". This means that the file has been published by The A MEDIA and that no one has tampered with the file.

If you click the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above, you can examine all the details of the certificate, such as when it was issued, who issued the certificate, how long it is valid, etc. You can also examine the address for The A MEDIA, such as the street name, city and country.
