I purchased and installed Lavasoft's adware: I keep getting this error message:
"SearchProtection.exe - Fatal Application Exit
***Unhandled Exception! ExpCode: 0xC0000005 ExpFlags:0 ExpAddress: 0x00491CA5 Please report

I traced it to Lavasoft, it has their signature and the program that triggers is from Lavasoft.... Not sure why the message is there and I'm trying to get rid of it even if I have to eventually reload windows 8.1 and all the other software I installed. When I change the start up so adware doesn't execute then the message doesn't appear. Problem is I want the antivirus program but not the error message... any ideas? I already contacted Lavasoft, no reply yet.

My guess it that you see this error message because Adaware tries to remove the SearchProtection.exe process.

@Greg: Did you try to uninstall and then reinstall AdAware to solve the problem?

I also found a post over at LavaSoft's support forum where someone had the same problem with the missing RCF.dll file:

http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/34189-cannot-start-update-or-uninstall-adaware-11/

Did that solve the problem?
