This damn program runs once an hour and takes focus for a moment, which interferes with my games. Really annoying!

I don't know what the purpose of E_FINVLFE is, but it seems to be installed along with Epson printer drivers.

Do we know of any way to stop this from constantly self-starting and running, bogging down my computer, without uninstalling EPSON programs that would prevent me from using my printer?

I have a decent computer, but only recently has this become a problem, and whether I'm doing work or enjoying a game, this basically halts my entire system for 15-30 seconds.

Thank you for your time!

I guess if you disable the E_FINVLFE.EXE from running at startup, you will not be able to print.

Apparently the file is to check for updates, and it runs a lot. It starts itself, checks, then unloads.

If you delete it, it re-installs.

If you rename it, it re-installs.

If you go into registry and tell it that it can't be loaded, doesn't work, it just prevents a user from starting it.

What I ended up having to do is go into the .exe file and steal permissions away in the security settings with Administrative rights, then DENY any access by SYSTEM to said permissions.

That finally stopped it from being able to run.

Computer has been fine since them and it's never run again.

Toodles.

Any chance someone could post step by step instructions on how to do what Brice describes to stop this process from running by itself and focus stealing please? I have found the file and opened its properties window and security, but I'm not sure what exactly I'm meant to do from there.
