Kies is Samsung's somewhat pesky cellphone downloader of photos, other media and a backup of messages in
C:\Documents and Settings\username...\My Documents\samsung\Kies\Backup\Download\Applications as a .db3 file that is useless when you switch to another phone or lose your phone.
KiesPDLR.exe runs at STARTUP from HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
It grabs a working set of about 22,400,000 and is always busy doing something. (Use Filemanager to check it out.)
I would say, delete it as somewhere described in internet. If you have a Samsung phone, it is the only way one can download your messages to your PC. But prevent it from loading automatically. I did by deleting its key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER and everywhere in my registry.
I call it just like any other program, when I need it. It takes ages to load, though. Poorly written program.
