This thing isn't a virus or malware, but it is a CPU hog. Consistently consuming 14% of CPU utilization, on a constant basis, with peaks higher or slightly lower. Combined with other aspects of Spybot S&D, your CPU usage will be in the 32% range, on idle, doing no formal scans, using an 8 core CPU (4 logical, four physical). It's not multi-threading that I can tell, and as a 32 Bit app, is not designed to take full advantage of current architectures. The Service that runs it restarts automatically if you kill the task alone. Obnoxious, in that when running, it routinely triggers the 'wait' pointer on your mouse.
