Spybot Search & Destroy is hard to classify. Originally it was a straightforward utility for removing malware and blocking websites with bad reputations. Then its owners decided to improve it, and turned it into malware on its own. The current version (3/22) installs, then TURNS OFF Windows Defender anti virus protection and web site blocking. Windows then reports that you have virus protection but YOU DO NOT. You would have to buy the "upgrade" to get S & D's own antivirus module. Clearly a scam, so I uninstalled the miserable thing. By the way, unchecking it's slider in Startup does not stop it loading. It has its own load app. SDWelcome is just part of the package.
