  1. Download and install FreeFixer: http://www.freefixer.com/download.html
  2. Start FreeFixer and press the Start Scan button. The scan will finish in approximately five minutes.

  3. When the scan is finished, locate StartupOptimizer.exe in the scan result and tick the checkbox next to the StartupOptimizer.exe file. Do not check any other file for removal unless you are 100% sure you want to delete it. Tip: Press CTRL-F to open up FreeFixer's search dialog to quickly locate StartupOptimizer.exe in the scan result.

  8. Restart your computer.
  9. Start FreeFixer and scan your computer again. Verify that StartupOptimizer.exe no longer appear in the scan result.

This relates to jv16 on my system, which I have and use. It can be disabled through the software if you don't want it to launch.

The file is detected by 3 of the scanners at virustotal:

But virustotal also says "Probably harmless! There are strong indicators suggesting that this file is safe to use."

The file is also signed by "Macecraft Software (Macecraft Oy)". I think the file is safe to use.
