If you remove this I'm pretty sure your AVG software will not work.
As near as I can tell this is caused by not having an updated version of the program AVG. Your AVG will still update virus data and protect you, but you need to update AVG in order to stop getting this message. (This is what I think based on what I read, I am not an expert on this by any means; but I am pretty sure I'm right.)
