avgmfapx.exe Concerns >

* I became aware of avgmfapx.exe recently when I noticed that my "System Idle Process" was overtaken by avgmfapx.exe * I monitor my computer's activity with "Windows Task Manager" (Win-XP) running in the background * avgmfapx.exe (which I had never seen before) overtook the activity of my computer (normally sitting at 97% idle) for about half a minite * I highlighted it in WTM and then went looking for it * As expected , it is an AVG program * I have no idea what it does except there is talk that it is an updater for AVG (AVG Installer Program) * This being true , I intend to block it by renaming it to "(BLOCKED) avgmfapx.exe" which I do for any unwanted updaters caught in the act of accessing the internet without notifying me * My computer is normally a clean & mean machine and I intend to keep it that way ; updating whenever I feel like it !*

* I ran this file through "www.virustotal.com" and it cleared every antivirus company (41) so it is probably NOT malicious software *
