My AVG anti-virus software has just detected and removed a file and registry
key which looked like they were part of the ABN Amro e.dentifier2 software:-
--- Name of file deleted was:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ABN AMRO e.dentifier2\wss\becwsupa.exe
--- Name of registry key healed was:
key_local_machine\software\wow6432node\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\becwsupa
-
What I don't yet know is was this part of the bank's legitimate software and therefore AVG made a FALSE POSITIVE discovery of a virus?
OR was this indeed malicious software which had lodged itself in the ABN Amro e.dentifier2 program folder?
-
One day I may find out .....
