I've discovered that this file is part of the AT&T Communication Manager, Byte Mobile Acceleration Client. Since it does a crappy job its better to either set to manual mode or uninstall completely. Hijack This tagged this as a windsock hijacker.....FIX (CHECK NOTES!) O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: bmnet.dll Fix using SpyBot SD or LSPfix from Cexx.org. Winsock hijackers........just passing along what i was able to find. Many thanks to freefixer! Oh, FYI, Spybot will not remove it; I know because I tried...and tried...and tried!
