Hey, just out of curiosity, as I'm not sure I'm comfortable downloading another extra program, and I'm just trying to gather info right now. I just noticed there's an application "HitmanPro_x64" in my downloads that I don't remember ever actually intentionally downloading, most likely misclicked a link or got it from streaming a tv show online, just curious if it's something I need to worry about and go hunt down and fix, or if I can leave it alone.

I think HitmanPro is a legit anti-malware program. The HitmanPro files should be signed by "SurfRight B.V.".

I did some searching around and although I couldn't find a single website that could tell me what HitmanPro_x64.exe does, (I found a lot that tell me that its an executable file, and the company that makes it) I found a website that tells you two other executable files made by the same company, and neither are good. So based on this information, I'm just going to assume HitmanPro_x64 is also bad and, because I never needed it in the first place, I think there is a good chance that I'm not doing anything bad to my computer by deleting a file that is never used. This is the website, tell me if my interpretation of the website is misinforming. I would not like to accidentally give out false information. http://www.isthisfilesafe.com/product/HitmanPro_x64.exe_details.aspx

@Surfer: The HitmanPro_x64.exe files listed at "isthisfilesafe" are digitally signed by the OutBrowse company. They are known for distributing lots of unwanted software. I think isthisfilesafe is correctly listing these two files as bad.

However, the file listed here is not the same file. It is digitally signed by "SurfRight B.V.". That company is the developer of the Hitman Pro software, so this file should be safe to use.

In case anyone else have a file called HitmanPro_x64.exe on the ccomputer. Please check the digital signature to see which company signed the file. You can also upload the file to VirusTotal.com to see what the anti-virus programs says about the file. Please post a comment and let us know what you find out.
