MRU-Blaster from Javacool, indexcleaner.exe runs once at boot in order to delete the index.dat files in the Temporary Internet Files folder and/or Cookies folder if a setting is checked in the IE Temporary Internet Files Cleaner Plug-in and/or the Cookie-Blaster Plug-in.
The following from MRU-Blaster help...
---------------------------
Plug-in Notes/Help
---------------------------
The IE Temporary Internet Files Cleaner Plug-in provides index.dat file cleaning. This occurs on reboot of your machine (as the index.dat file is locked during normal use). A 2 pass file wipe is performed before the index.dat file is deleted.
NOTE: The default number of shredding passes for this plug-in is set at 2 because of the large amount of data usually stored in the IE Temporary Internet Files. Since, on many systems, just a regular cleaning of all Temporary Internet Files (with secure file shredding) can take several minutes or more, do not be surprised if this option extends that time considerably.
---------------------------
Plug-in Notes/Help
---------------------------
The Cookie-Blaster Plug-in provides the cookies folder index.dat file cleaning. This occurs on reboot of your machine (as the index.dat file is locked during normal use). A 2 pass file wipe is performed before the index.dat file is deleted.
