The above does not tell me how to delete migwiz.
It does not appear in the control panel and going direct to the system32 folder tells me I need permission from TrustedInstaller.
The main problem I have is that every time I restart the PC migwiz changes some of my settings - like changing my internet homepage to Google, of all things. That makes it malware in my book.
PLEASE someone tell me how to delete or at least disable it.

PLEASE

@frank: That's interesting. How did you find out that migwiz.exe was changing your homepage?

migwiz.exe is developed and digitally signed by Microsoft, so it should be harmless and not do these things. Many of Microsoft's files are protected by TrustedInstaller which, as you already noticed, difficult to remove.

Bullguard tells me that my homepage has changed and invites me to revert. If I do revert then I keep duckduckgo and ebay, if I don't select revert then I get G*o*l*.
So if you or anyone else knows how to remove it then please let me know.

@frank: That's strange. Could you please upload your copy of migwiz.exe to http://virustotal.com ? The VirusTotal site will check the files for malware, and dig out a lot of useful info.

Please copy the link to the scan result here. I would like to make sure that your copy of migwiz.exe is from Microsoft, and not something else that just have been named migwiz.exe.

The scan says it's from the Microsoft catalogue.
My point is still that I don't care who created the file. It's my computer and I should be able to delete whatever I want. So I would still like someone, even Bill Gates, to tell me how to delete this unwanted irritation.

@Frank: Thank you for posting the VirusTotal scan for migwiz.exe. As you say, it's a legit copy of migwiz.exe that you have on your machine.

Regarding removing migwiz.exe, as long as you understand the consequences of removing a system files and you know how to restore the file if needed again, proceed at your own risk.

FreeFixer's File Nuker should be able to delete the file. You can find it under the Tools tab in FreeFixer.

I also think that you can remove system files with the Windows Recovery Console's command prompt.

Hope that answered your question.
