I plan to uninstall rpcld.exe. I understand that rpcld.exe is low-jack software, by Absolute Software, Inc., and that it may be possible for the program to locate a stolen laptop (PC) should such an event occur. I personally find the lack of global "location" privacy to far outweigh the benefit of such a program being installed on my personal laptop (PC) in the unlikely event that same is stolen from my home. Every privacy program that I have installed is compromised each and every time rpcld.exe attempts to access the internet to "call home", ...which I have found to be more frequent than I care for.
This software makes sense for business, law enforcement and other business entities where a laptop PC is transported, sometimes left unattended in a vehicle, office, etc.
Sincerely, seabee
