I have run into Ruby Interpreter right after I paid for a program called Private Internet Access. I think it is part of that, but I am not sure. I also have a "Harverster" trying to contact a server in Romaina (93.114.43.244). My Malwarebytes keeps (I hope!) stopping it. How do I take it off my syetem and the program that causes it to happen?

@Steve: rubyw.exe is used to run programs programmed in the Ruby language. So it can be used for both good and bad purposes.

I think the outgoing connections to 93.114.43.244 sounds worrying. I would try to figure out which program is doing the outgoing connection and why. Does MalwareBytes give any information about which program is responsible for the connection to 93.114.43.244?

If it's something malicious that makes the connection I'd just delete the file manually with Windows Explorer or use a tool such as FreeFixer to nuke the file, followed up by scanning the computer with some of the free anti-virus products.

Yeah ruby .exe is part of the private internet access program. I personally am very tired of it constantly running around doing whatever so i end the process whenever i think about it to show it who's boss!

I would like to be paid for promoting your software. The least you could do is give me a free version so my feedback is genuine

@mario Why would you pay for a VPN service then kill the processors that it uses? Wouldn't that be waste of your money if the VPN stops working and you end up paying for nothing?

Private Internet Access virtual private network (VPN) has a good thread on ruby.exe (See link below). "alexb" provides insight into how and why ruby.exe reoccurs, especially when PIA VPN is set to initialize on computer startup. Essentially, PIA initiates ruby.exe to run as a part of it's startup process every time PIA runs. Ruby.exe is dialing multiple servers looking for best ping to connect to.
