I keep getting a message from Norton Security that it has detected and quarantined a Trojan virus and the source is vxhost.exe. I get the same message at least 4-5 times daily.

Roger, thanks to your program and your personal help, that was taken care of in very short order, as were any other problems I was having. I can't thank you enough for that. I'm not a computer techy (SP?) but it boggles the imagination that Norton was only able to quarantine the problem but never remove it permanently and you were able to do it immediately!

Occasionally we download Korean video files from clubnara.com, and get some player software to play them properly. We used to download at over 1,000Kcps but this vxhost.exe kept taking the CPU to 100% usage so sometimes we were lucky to get 100Kcps download speed. Deleting the processes would increase the speed some but it would get slow again later. After reading these Freefixer postings, I deleted the vxhost.exe (in Docs and Settings) as well as the running processes, and without rebooting or logging out, download is been steadily increasing - now over 500Kcps as I write this. Later I will try rebooting and see what happens, then try this Freefixer.

I, too, have the vxhost.exe and I tried the free fixer tool but it comes back after about 5 minutes after restarting my computer. Is there a permanent fix? Please help. It's driving me crazy.
